11 Robot Sex and Marrying Robots Now Promoted in the Media

Virtual Reality Sex—A Taste of Posthuman Sex Life

Let us now move over to the ultimate porn—virtual reality sex. What would you think if a video game producer came up with a game that is entirely based on virtual sex—real virtual sex? Do you think it would be a hit?

It would, and it was a hit because it is already produced and was temporarily put on the market. However, this male sex toy was later withdrawn from the market after the manufacturer had been swamped by demand from buyers who wanted it. [The Mirror, Feb. 3, 2016, Makers of 'mindblowing' sex robot with virtual vagina swamped with orders]

It worked by strapping the user on a VR (Virtual Reality) helmet, and he could then have VR sex with simulated, beautiful women. He was simultaneously sexually stimulated in the 3-D world by a device that responded to the person’s arousal.

The reason the producer, VirtuaDolls, stopped producing the game was because men were rushing in droves to order this game, and the manufacturer could not keep up the productions under such circumstances. Hence, they had to put the program on hold. Note that it was not because of moral issues the company decided to stop its production, but because the demand from customers to buy the product was too high. Of course, that makes me suspicious if this was foremost a “test” by the Military to see exactly how well such a game would be received. Now they know, and sure enough, the company promises their customers that they will be back as soon as they can meet the demand! [Ibid.]

Part of this game is played as follows:

VirtuaDolls ships with a title called Girls of Arcadia (pictured below) in which gamers have to save a damsel in distress.

If players can't be bothered rescuing the woman, they can just jump to "sim mode" in which they simply choose a woman and sex begins before the first date is even mooted, let alone completed. [Ibid. op. cit.]

This means that the user doesn’t even have to bother with playing the game; he can just put the game in “sim mode,” and he can have cybersex as much as he wants with preferred damsel.

Now, how does this work for the user? What happens when he gets aroused? The article in Mirror further states,

In a promotional video backed by Beverly Hills Cop-style synth-pop music, the firm responsible for VirtuaDolls said it would "take adult gaming to the next level".

It is designed to have "several innovative features which create a mindblowing experience".

These include a "programmable pressure gripper", which can vary the tightness of its squeeze and a "stroke motion" with variable speed.

It uses sensors to detect the power of a man's thrusts, which can then be used to control the onscreen action.

The device can be used along with VR helmets including the Oculus Rift. [Ibid. op. cit.]

Exactly what do you think will happen when a great number of men have access to virtual reality of this kind? Do you think it will enhance relations between real men and women? Very soon, men will totally forget how to approach a woman, and they will fall deeper and deeper into the virtual reality abyss. When relieved, the man will then go to another virtual reality device, such as a smartphone or the successor of such device, and continue his virtual reality experiences by “connecting” with his friends on the phone; not to talk to them, but to either text them or using other near-future-produced apps and tools. This is what sex is supposed to be in the post Singularity world—it’s all about virtual reality, which becomes the reality.
